Carrying out the wishes of someone that has passed away, particularly if they were a family member or friend, can be a daunting process. We provide Estate Advice, Estate Administration, and Probate services that cater to the varying needs of Executors whether they are dealing with a small or large estate.
We tailor our service to the level you are comfortable with and the type of estate being distributed. You may choose to take our estate advice but take on most of the work yourself, or you may ask us to do it for you. Where you are doing the work yourself you can rely on us for estate advice and guidance as and when you need it and simply pay for our time as you require it.
What is Probate?
Probate is the process of receiving legal recognition that a Will is legally valid. Once received, Probate allows the Executor to take control of the assets of the estate to carry out the wishes of the deceased.
There is a strict set of rules that govern how and when Probate will be granted, which is why this process is usually carried out by an experienced estate administration lawyer.
Can I choose who helps me?
Unless a very specific request has been made in the Will, an Executor may choose the law firm they go to for estate advice. We provide the estate administration expertise at an extremely cost effective price. We are upfront with you about fees, and we work to ensure the maximum value of the estate possible passes to those the willmaker intended.
Don’t assume the firm that prepared the Will is best suited to assist you with the estate administration.

Please note: Since the integration of Gray Lawyers into the CGLaw business in 2015 our estate planning services have been provided under the Clifford Gouldson Lawyers brand. The same quality and value for money continues with Sheelagh Gray as the lawyer in charge of the estate administration process.
